A Journey Several Years in the Making

It is finally here! This has been a day that has been several years in the making. I have finally taken the steps needed to create my own business. It has been a long journey to this point, but it is finally here.

The Piano Lessons

The journey began right after college selling pianos. It was a job that was related to my chosen field of study as I was a music major. I learned several lessons about myself while I had this job. I also learned several lessons to be able to apply when I would become an entrepreneur.

Back to the Office Drawing Board

The next part of my journey took me to an office supply company. That was an amazing job with a great group of people to work with. I was able to take so many skills that I had already developed and expand them to become an expert in several of those skills. I also learned that a great group of people can really make a company grow and thrive.

Time to Take the Medicine

The next journey took me to a company that overseas clinical trials for medical drugs and devices. Again, another great group of people to work with. And again was able to expand my skillset and continue to be an expert in several different areas. This job also gave me experience dealing with government regulations.

Kick Your Feet Up

The next part of my journey took me to a furniture retailer for high end homes. I learned how to work with different departments and people within the company. I also learned a lot about improving my communication skills. I learned many lessons at this job that I could apply to entrepreneurship.

Always Thinking

Along this journey, I have always been thinking about what owning my own business would mean to me, freedom to be my own boss, financial freedom, the ability to help others, more free time to pursue my hobbies and interests, and more time to spend with family. These are all goals for me. Starting my own business, while scary, will allow me to able to achieve these goals.

Being Thankful Along the Way

I need to thank a few people on this journey. First, I need to thank God for giving me the gifts and talents that I am able to use to be able to provide this service. Second, I need to thank my wife. She has always provided support to any of the crazy ideas that I have had. She has given me direction and guidance and helped me to be able to focus my energies. I would not be where I am today without her in my life. Next I need to thank Sarah Turner and her Write Your Way to Freedom course. Without the guidance that she provided in this course, I would not have even thought about doing this as a career. While I was looking at several different programs, hers stood out. The course got me to thinking like a real entrepreneur and the support from the Facebook community continues to convince me that this is the right choice. Lastly, I need to thank my friends and family who have encouraged or discouraged me appropriately to be able to reach this point. I would not be here at this point without them.

So join me on this journey. Contact me to see how I can help you on your journey.
